KAMA Tai
ANCESTOR ROOTS

Kama Tai
Hey now kin, I am of very mixed race, great granddaughter of New Orleans creoles and the iron mineworkers of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Great granddaughter of Tulsa Oklahoma race riots and Swedish fika and art. I reside on the lands of the Timucua peoples of North East Florida and was raised between Dallas Tx, and Grand Junction, Mi.
I have had some very profound periods of learning, sometimes from life's twist and turns and more often from teachers and mentors. I learned of the Vedas and the sutras from my father at 15 and then I became a student of Tantric hatha yoga in the mid 90's. I earned my 500hr yoga certification from Sangha Yoga in Kalamazoo, MI. I have learned and continue to learn ancestral lineage healing, from Daniel Foor of Ancestral Medicine. I have been a cultural practitioner of West African drum and dance for over 20 years. I am a practitioner of racial healing and am trained as a full spectrum birth doula. I even did a TED talk and started a non-profit that encompasses those bodies of work. I am an ordained minister, and identify as queer, animist, and decolonized. Water, music and time spent with babies make life wondrous and worth living.
